Luxury Goods
This body of work is in response to the “luxury tax” assessed in many states on feminine hygiene products. This is an excise levy on goods or services considered to be luxuries rather than necessities. The use of Swarovski crystals and gold leaf on tampons acknowledges the absurdity of considering these basic necessities as a luxury.
